A large portion of our Subtilis brand products are manufactured in our own production facility in Bern, Switzerland. Together with our partners, we market these high-quality instruments worldwide, providing medical professionals with precise, professional access in their clinical routine.
For our standard instruments, we collaborate with experienced manufacturers from Southern Germany, with whom we have long-standing partnerships. Additionally, we are the exclusive distribution partner for various brands and maintain an extensive warehouse that we flexibly adapt to our customers’ needs.
Since 1997, Accuratus has established a comprehensive quality management system that is continuously reviewed, further developed and aligned with the highest standards.

Our History –
grown from experience, led with foresight
1967
For over 26 years, Jürg Küffer worked for Prof. Maurice E. Müller, developing surgical instruments and implants on his behalf, which were successfully marketed by Protek AG.
1992
Founding of Accuratus AG.
1993
Together with his son Patrick, the operational activities of Accuratus AG begin, offering comprehensive service, procurement, and custom manufacturing for surgical teams.
1997
Accuratus receives ISO certification as one of the first medical technology companies in Switzerland.
2002
Introduction of the proprietary brand Subtilis, international establishment in modern medicine.
2013
Jürg Küffer retires from operational business.
2024
Accuratus AG becomes part of Accuratus Holding and is supported by a qualified team.
2026
Accuratus AG receives MDR certification according to Regulation (EU) 2017/745, confirming the conformity of its quality management system.
The roots of Accuratus AG lie in the long-standing collaboration between Jürg Küffer and the internationally renowned orthopedist Prof. Maurice E. Müller, a defining figure in modern orthopedics and medical technology. With his pioneering developments in the field of joint replacement, Prof. Müller contributed significantly to the fact that the implantation of artificial hip joints is considered one of medicine’s greatest success stories today. For 26 years, Jürg Küffer worked in his environment, developing and manufacturing surgical instruments and implants on behalf of Prof. Müller.
Following this formative period, Accuratus AG was founded in 1992. As early as January 1993, the company commenced operations together with Patrick Küffer. The goal was to provide surgical teams in clinics and hospitals with a central point of contact – offering comprehensive services for the care, reprocessing, selection, procurement, and custom manufacturing of surgical instruments.
In the following years, Accuratus AG continued to evolve and successfully established itself in the market. The first employees were hired, and the infrastructure was systematically expanded. By 1997, Accuratus was among the first medical technology companies in Switzerland to receive ISO certification – a clear commitment to quality, structure, and process reliability.
Since the first successful hip replacement surgeries in the 1960s, joint replacement has steadily evolved and is now considered a proven routine procedure for treating painful osteoarthritis.
In parallel, surgical techniques have changed fundamentally. Modern minimally invasive surgical procedures allow for significantly more tissue-sparing implantation and promote faster patient rehabilitation. However, this development places the highest demands on the instruments used: they must ensure maximum precision, optimal ergonomics, and the highest reliability even under demanding conditions.
Driven by this standard, the proprietary brand Subtilis was created in 2002.
Developed for the requirements of modern, tissue-sparing hip surgery, Subtilis stands for innovative instrument systems that combine precision, ergonomics, and efficiency. Thanks to close collaboration with leading specialists and renowned partners, the brand has established itself internationally and is now an indispensable part of modern orthopedics.
In 2013, Jürg Küffer retired from operational business. Since then, the company has been managed independently by Patrick Küffer. Since 2024, Accuratus AG has been part of Accuratus Holding.
Today, Accuratus AG is supported by a dedicated and qualified team that actively shapes the company’s future with expertise, innovative spirit, and a sense of responsibility. Building on its many years of experience, Accuratus develops solutions that support medical progress and contribute to making surgical procedures even safer and more efficient for doctors and patients worldwide. Another significant milestone was reached in July 2026: with the successful certification according to the European Medical Device Regulation (MDR), Accuratus AG underscores its high quality standards and its consistent commitment to patient safety, regulatory excellence, and the development of future-oriented medical products.
